PROBLEM

You understand the passage —
but still get it wrong.

The meaning feels clear. But when you look at the answer choices, they all seem right. You find yourself thinking, "Which one do I actually choose?" — and time keeps slipping away.

You check the answer with ChatGPT after the fact. It makes sense when you read the explanation. But the next time a similar question appears, you're lost again.

You run out of time on practice tests. Reading comprehension scores won't budge, no matter how hard you study. You're putting in the effort — but not seeing the results.

If this sounds familiar —

It's not a matter of ability.
You simply haven't learned the right method yet.

Low scores in reading aren't caused by
weak vocabulary or grammar.

What's missing is a method — and a clear standard for choosing answers.

What each question
is really asking

🎯

Which answer to choose
— and why

Without this framework, every new passage is a new puzzle.
You can't solve it on your own.

SOLUTION

Learn how to approach
JLPT N1 reading —
in a way you can repeat.

Most reading courses focus on explanation. But knowing why an answer is correct doesn't tell you how to find it yourself.

In this course, we break down how to read and how to solve — not as intuition, but as a repeatable process.

  • Learn where to focus your attention as you read
  • Understand the intent behind each question type
  • Choose answers based on evidence, not instinct
  • Build a method you can apply to any passage

Even when the passage changes,
you can solve it on your own.

We articulate every step so you can internalize the process and apply it independently — no matter what passage appears on exam day.

BENEFIT

Reading comprehension becomes
a skill you can count on.

Before
  • The passage doesn’t make sense
  • All choices seem correct
  • You run out of time
  • You guess and hope
After
  • ◎ You understand the passage structure
  • ◎ You identify the question intent
  • ◎ You eliminate wrong answers
  • ◎ You solve questions within time

The moment a passage finally clicks —
that feeling of "I got it" —
slowly becomes something you enjoy.

Aki Yamamoto

Japanese Language Instructor (JLPT N1/N2 Specialist)

With over 12 years of experience teaching Japanese, I have supported learners worldwide through one-on-one lessons on platforms like italki and Preply. I currently teach N1-level reading comprehension and grammar at a language school in Tokyo.

I specialize in helping N2-level learners break through to N1 by teaching a clear, structured approach to reading — not just understanding, but choosing the correct answer with confidence.

Many learners struggle with N1 reading not because of vocabulary, but because they lack a clear method — and that is exactly what I teach.

What students are saying

R's Story

With less than two months until the December 2025 JLPT N1 exam, R struggled with reading, often scoring around 30–40% and feeling unsure about how to approach the questions.

By learning a clear process, he was able to understand texts, eliminate wrong answers, and pass the JLPT N1 with confidence. This is what happens when you learn how to approach reading.
